Dear Readers:
February is
the month of love. In the dead of winter when all is cold and gray,
Valentine’s Day is a spot of cheerfulness with its red hearts and
warm wishes of love. Here’s a great cheesecake recipe that’s
perfect for a Valentine’s Day treat to share with your sweetie.
Although it’s called Cheesecake for Two, it’s more
like cheesecake for four. Enjoy!

Writing News…
Spirit of a Hunter, book 5
of The Seekers series for Harlequin Intrigue, is copy-edited and
ready to move along the rest of the production process. Look for it
in July 2007. I’m currently working on book 6 of The Seekers,
Noah’s story. He leaves the calm of his beloved New Hampshire
mountains for the chaos of Seattle to help out an old childhood
friend who’s being cyber-stalked.

Pull
of the Moon,
my December release from Harlequin Intrigue, is still available from
Author, Author! bookstore. They’ll also send you a signed book
plate with your order. You can read an excerpt on my
website, as well as an
article on scams that was inspired by one of the characters’
variation on a Ponzi scheme.
Q: How
did you start writing?
A: Like a lot of people I’d think, someday I’ll write. But after a
scary illness, I realized that some day might never come. So even
though the timing wasn’t ideal with two young kids at home, I
decided to carve out time to write every day. I started with
fifteen minutes and worked up from there. While the kids were busy
listening to story time at the library, I raided the writing shelf.
I read every book the library had on writing, and I also read a lot
of fiction—five minutes here, fifteen there. I came across a
Harlequin Intrigue and thought it was perfect with its tightly
braided layers of romance and suspense. The bonus was that it was
only 250 pages. I figured I could get 250 pages written.
Q: Why do
you write what you write? Why romance? Why suspense?
A: For me
it’s all about exploring the layers of a lasting relationship, the
layers of motivation that make people do the things they do, and
leaving the reader with a sense of hope that, in the end, someone
will accept us as we are and that, no matter how bad things look,
they’ll work out. The way the mind works and how we create masks
for ourselves fascinates me. Peeling back those layers to discover
the truth of the character is what keeps me writing.
If you have a question you’d like
